I injected additional foam insulation (used for filling between studs behind drywall) to extend the foam along the coil so water would drip into the tray of the ice maker during defrost (about 3/4"). I check the comments here every couple of days to see if anyone is getting a real resolution. The person on the phone mentioned they would be installing some clips. Do you think that will solve the splashing issue (assuming that is the reason)? @Plano Go To Guy... if you're within the factory warranty, you should be able to make it happen, but it's a pain and takes a lot of work to get Samsung to own up to their own warranty. The tech came Monday, replaced the ice maker and augur assembly, finished the caulking that I couldn't reach, and trimmed the water line tube. Anybody else had success with the K revision auger? We appreciate the tremendous amount of responses from everyone. I've installed a couple of the kits and am waiting for feedback on them. For just under $3,000 we expected avoiding little annoying issues like ice-makers that stop working. Now every 2 weeks I'm in there bruising my arm trying to scrape ice off,or spending an hour with cups of boiling water or a steamer. @The Invisible, completely agreed. I'm a satisfied customer for now, and greatly appreciative of the irritation and frustration so many others have gone through to try to get Samsung to pay attention. We just ran into this issue this on a new "outlet" version this past week and it's been tons of fun. Spoke to the law firm pursuing a class action case against Samsung.
