They didn't know Zack was comingWas writing a big response but I will just say this. They are typical teenagers who love a good dare, talk about girls and chase popularity.I had to do some questioning after Super Dark Times, feeling quite lost with all the meaning behind it all. The scene ends on Alisons face again damn near smiling as soon as Josh asks for the sword before we cut to Zach running down the street.I also found it a bit weird that when Zach is walking Alison home (after her transformation at the party) he asks her "do you really think he just fell", and she totally dismisses the possibility of foul play.
Not too heavy and not too light, it ticks all the boxes and still has me wondering about whether we have seen the last of this story.Having an opening scene so dire and so solemn gets used to provoke the feeling that it will only get worse from here.
At some point in this party Josh is going to take Alison to see the dead body. Maybe the line when they’re in the bedroom where they mention the game Zelda.
A video artist looking for work drives to a remote house in the forest to meet a man claiming to be a serial killer. We don't see what shes doing with her face or her hands or if she mouthed anything (her friend mouthed WTF earlier in the scene when Josh was drinking milk).
I think after showing her the body he finally admits that HE did it and shows her the sword, which is where they both mutilate the body.
Super Dark Times is set in the Clinton era where the coolest birthday gift is one’s own personal phone line, and is deliberately positioned before the Columbine shootings, an event seared into America’s psyche.

If you had questions about this film, I have all the answers you need. It's 1996 and Zack and Josh have been friends for a long time.
It is easy to spot when Josh is dreaming as he is without his red cast.Any explanation you dream up can apply to Josh and Zach's story. Remember that sex dream Zach had, what if it's not Zach having sex at the murder site but actually Josh, and in the dream Josh is looking down at him angrily because that's HIS girl now. There's some really interesting story told via body language in the final weed sale scene I want to discuss also.If youre paying attention to Alison during the final weed deal she can barely make eye contact with Josh, maybe shes scared, or maybe shes trying to act normal, maybe she knows something. The focus then shifts to the bag of weed, which last time we saw was at that party. I had almost talked myself out of it until I read this post.I didn’t see you mention it, maybe I missed it but I just watched the movie last night. Super Dark Times review. A strong and specific mood can cover up a multitude of sins in a film.
Seeing the shows she survived, that much is certain. Perhaps Josh went to Gaol and Zach moved away with his mom.
... At the end of the film Allison is shown at at her locker. Most teenagers are idiots.Like the title, the entire film is dark and moody with some camera shots so detailed there was enough information in them to apply symbolic meanings to them.
Super Dark Times’ story of an accidental death and subsequent cover-up is imbued with a similar feeling of moral ambivalence.
We just see Josh get super uncomfortable as he looks at her twice then changes his gaze to the sword and says "my turn". There was plenty to suggest 90's erase but still don't get what that has to do with Columbine so I agree thereWhat about the tape player Zach uses? Use the HTML below. Those that miss vital points will probably not enjoy this film and while I didn't catch them all, I maintained enough of them so I was still there at the end having enjoyed the bumpy ride.Like everyone else that enjoyed it, I did love the way it plodded along.

I can't figure out the significance...was it textiles, clothesmaking? A punk rock band is forced to fight for survival after witnessing a murder at a neo-Nazi skinhead bar. I read an article from some guy who tweeted the director about certain symbolism in this film. The director plays with us by having him say "let me see that" meaning the joint, but to us, sitting on the edge of our seats, we're thinking it's the sword. Not to mention both friends are interested in the same girl (Elizabeth Cappuccino).Looking for something to watch? With each scene, the boys look younger and more vulnerable. When troubled musical prodigy Charlotte seeks out Elizabeth, the new star pupil of her former school, the encounter sends both musicians down a sinister path with shocking consequences. A girl in the school library throws a tantrum and is tossed out.
