Your strips will be the length of your unfinished quilt blocks. Yesterday I was up at Thimbles & Things in Orillia teaching my Animal Party quilt. Sashing can be a contrasting color, or the same as your background, with cornerstones or without. A much easier & far more accurate method! It makes adding cornerstones easier too. Step 1: Cut as many 2.5” x (Width of your block) strips as you need to go in between your quilt blocks. The big benefit of this method is that you cut your strips to the measurement they should be, in this case, 12-1/2-inches.
