The .338 RCM, nor the .325 WSM are really suited for long range shooting. The only available brass for the .338 RCM is made by Hornady, so one must have new or previously fired Hornady brass in .338 RCM to reload. To say that the .338 RCM is vastly superior to the .325 is silly, but then again we are gun loonies around here. In that regard, the 8mm bullets fall short- at least the ones I'm aware of... which I think is most of 'em but if there's a good, high-BC 8mm hunting bullet I'm not aware of, it'd make my day to be corrected!The best there is is probably the 220 Sierra. The .325 can in some instances deliver hydrostatic shock (keep projectiles above 2600fps) out to greater ranges than factory .338 Winchester Magnum ammunition while factory loads for the .325 WSM are most definitely heavier than .300WSM offerings and at a subtle level, can generate more trauma than like weight .30 caliber bullets. I developed a load with both 220 Sierras and 220 A Frames and RL 17 that averages 2850, which I believe is what the factory loads are supposed to do (although I clocked them at just under 2800).
